Berlioz’s
death mask
Berlioz died on 8 March 1869 at 12.30 at his home in 4
rue de Calais, Paris. His funeral service took place at the Church
of Sainte-Trinité on 11 March; he was buried at the Montmartre
Cemetery.
This picture was published in the 8 December 1898 issue of La
Vie Illustrée, a copy of which is in our own collection.
