On 18 July 1997, ten years to the day, the Hector Berlioz Website was founded. It comprised at first only a single page, but has since expanded considerably in many directions, as a glance at the Site History will show. We can assure our visitors that we have every intention of continuing to develop and improve the site for many years to come.

    We are in fact also planning further ahead and are currently examining ways of preserving the site in some form beyond our lifetime. We have already developed for this purpose a fully functional CD version of the entire site, complete with multiple search engines, and constantly updated. In due course we intend to deposit copies of this CD with suitable libraries, museums, educational and research institutions. We are also exploring ways in which the site might permanently maintain its presence online and be funded by us, after we are no longer able to contribute to it.

    We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have contributed to the site and helped in some way to enrich it. We look forward to your continued support in the future.
